Four player mode announced for the Adventure RPG

PokePark 2: Beyond the World, the sequel to 2010’s bizarre theme park based PokePark for the Wii, has been revealed by Nintendo. For the moment details are pretty sketchy, with the only new features announced being a four player mode and an expansion of playable characters outside of the original games Pikachu.

Now many of you may not be too familiar with the original 2010 console Pokemon game, but let me tell you, PokePark Wii: Pikachu’s Adventure is kinda crazy. First things first, the game is based on a real life theme park in Japan, despite bearing almost no resemblance to the aforementioned park. So that’s bizarre. It’s also perhaps the best 3D representation of the Pokemon world since Pokemon Snap, which really needs a sequel using the 3DS’s Gyroscope or that still enigmatic Wii U controller.

As per usual we have no idea whether the original sold well enough to justify an international release, although the Pokemon brand does seem to help out with that a little.
